National Science Week 2024

The 2024 theme for National Science Week is ‘Species Survival – More Than Just Sustainability’. It focuses on us all being part of an intertwined ecosystem that depends on each system to be healthy and functional to ensure the survival of all species.

This year students will participate in Science Week within their classroom setting and have the opportunity to enter the 2024 Currambine Primary School Museum of Innovation competition.

Students have the opportunity to become an innovator and help the survival of all species with the chance to win some awesome prizes! They are invited to design, create or innovate a form of technology that will help in protecting long term species survival of either animals, or plants, or both. Students may focus on a given element of sustainability that may include sustainability and food, sustainability and maths &and data, sustainability and culture, sustainability and technology and society or sustainability and biology.

  3. Projects are to be completed and submitted by Tuesday 13th August. Entries to be handed to homeroom teachers.
  4. Judging will take place during Science Week (Mon 12th to Fri 16th August). Judges’ decisions are final. Winners will be announced on Friday 16th August via a PA announcement at school plus a Connect notice.
  5. All entries will be displayed in the Museum of Innovation at our Open Night on Wednesday 21st August.
  6. Prizes will be awarded at the Week Nine (Senior) and Week Ten (Junior) assemblies for the relevant age categories.
